Viridian Biergarten
Building a brand around community
Viridian Biergarten was envisioned as more than a neighborhood gathering place—it was designed to become a welcoming destination where people from all walks of life could come together to share experiences, build relationships, and create lasting memories. Located in the heart of the Viridian community in Arlington, Texas, the space embraces its surroundings by repurposing shipping containers into a unique, open-air environment that reflects both creativity and connection.
Working collaboratively with the ownership and hospitality team, we set out to develop a visual identity that captured the spirit of the space and its core values of Hospitality, Community, Heart, and Connection. Our process began with more than 100 logo sketches and conceptual explorations, allowing us to examine a wide range of visual directions before refining the strongest ideas into a cohesive identity system.
Through ongoing collaboration, critique, and refinement, we developed a brand that balanced warmth and approachability with a modern, memorable visual language. The final identity reflects the welcoming atmosphere of the biergarten, with a nod to German lettering, while creating a recognizable brand that supports everything from environmental graphics and signage to merchandise and marketing materials.

Designer Note
One of my favorite aspects of this project was the exploration phase. Beginning with more than 100 hand-drawn concepts encouraged us to think broadly before narrowing our focus, ultimately leading to a brand that felt both distinctive and deeply connected to the community it was created to serve.
